Rodrigo Mendoza-Sánchez earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Universidad de las Américas–Puebla (2006) and his Ph.D. from McGill University (2013) in the Gleason Lab. After a brief period at TRC in Toronto, he completed postdoctoral work in the Yudin Lab at the University of Toronto before joining Encycle Therapeutics as Senior Scientist, developing macrocyclic peptides (“nacellins”) with enhanced drug-like properties. Following Encycle’s acquisition by Zealand Pharma in 2019, Rodrigo returned to Montreal to join the Drug Discovery Unit at IRIC, Université de Montréal, where he is now Senior Research Scientist and chemistry lead on projects ranging from target identification to lead optimization. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, films, and hosting dinner parties.
